WALMER PARK SHOPPING CENTRE - LOCKDOWN PRESS RELEASE

COVID-19 Lockdown

Walmer Park Shopping Centre would like to assure shoppers that we will remain open and operational during the National Lockdown. In terms of the President’s announcements regarding the national lockdown effective Midnight Thursday 26 March 2020, the following stores identified as ESSENTIAL SERVICES will remain open: Pick n Pay,  Woolworths,  Dischem,  Clicks, Banking institutions and ATMS.

The following Entrance 1, 2, 3, 5 and parking areas at these entrances will remain open, however, our basement parking area will be closed to all shoppers. Each of our entrances will be barricaded with crowd control fencing and all shoppers will be required to sanitise their hands upon entry and exit and observe social distancing.

We will make the Bathroom facilities adjacent to Dischem available to shoppers, but all other bathroom facilities will be locked. The remainder of the Shopping Centre will be on lockdown and not accessible to shoppers to walk through.

Walmer Park will continue to offer shoppers the very best and safe shopping environment with a full component of security and cleaning staff. The Centre will continue its daily deep clean services. We have communicated good hygiene practice to all our Security and Cleaning staff, and they have been issued with sanitiser, gloves and masks in order for them to remain safe.

We urge shoppers to not “panic buy” during this time, to remain safe and practice good judgement, good hygiene and social distancing at all times. Let us work together during this time to flatten the curve and stop the spread of this virus.
